SHEA'S MELTING!

SUMMER SHIPPING CHANGES

During very warm weather, products may soften or even melt in transit as they sit in warm mail trucks and mailboxes. We don't want this so our packages will come with a bit of extra protection when you purchase items that run the risk of melting. Even though we will take extra precautions packaging our items, your products still may run the risk of melting. Melting is a natural reaction to heat and we have no control over the conditions during transit or delivery. Our Whipped Butters, deodorant, balms, hair butter and even our resin made accessories are heat sensitive.
Our whipped butters are made with oils and shea butter and are formulated to be a semi-soft solid at room temperature. When applied to our warm skin, they instantly melt, providing an emollient, nourishing and penetrating product. So they are extremely heat sensitive.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT MELTING??

On sunny or warm days it is best to let your products sit in a cool place BEFORE opening the jars. Once you open your package please check to see if any melting has occurred. Being careful when opening up the items. If you open up an item and it has melted you may cause a spill and make a mess and we don't want that!

**The quality and healing properties of our products are not affected by melting.**

Melting will not affect the quality of the whipped butter as a great moisturizer, but the whipped consistency will change. It will become more like a body balm. Whipping adds tiny air bubbles (just like whipping cream) that increase the size, lightens the density and changes the texture, making the butter light and fluffy. If a whipped product melts, the air bubbles are collapsed, so the volume is decreased. So although the jar was filled to the top, if the butter melts, there will be less volume in the container. The container may actually look half full.
Make sure the top is on tightly and give the jar a good shake and place it in the fridge. You may also use a electric whisk beater to whip the butter to it's normal consistency but you have to wait until the butter is completely cooled to do so.

To avoid the issue of melting altogether we recommend you choose priority mail at checkout if you purchase heat sensitive products. Priority mail delivers in 2-3 days and spends less time in transit compared to other shipping options. It's a bit more expensive but may be worth it in the end to keep your products in the best condition possible.

If you don’t want to pay a bit more for priority shipping we recommend you pay close attention to your tracking information and make sure on the days your package is to be delivered that you or either home or have someone to bring your package in for you.

We hope that you all have a wonderful summer. Stay Cool!
